Icomera join ENGIE DESA at ARA Light Rail Conference 2019

On 4th and 5th March, Icomera will be joining ENGIE Services – DESA at their exhibition stand at the Australasian Railway Association (ARA)’s Light Rail 2019 Conference at the Crown Melbourne. The event will bring together operators, manufacturers, contractors, and industry and government stakeholders of every level across the light rail sector to hear cutting-edge case studies, project updates, and learn from successful projects in Australasia and around the world.

A One-Box Solution:

Icomera will use the event to launch its state-of-the-art X3 (Rail) onboard router to the Australasian market, specifically raising further regional awareness of how it can help rail operators overcome any challenges they may face with regards to Passenger Wi-Fi, CCTV, PID, onboard diagnostics, ticketing, and the consolidation of connectivity cabling and hardware.

The Icomera X3 (Rail) is a router designed for single-carriage train environments, including light rail, trams, and metro carriages. Providing LTE-A connectivity and Mobile Edge Computing, the Icomera X3 (Rail) is ideally suited to support future-proof connectivity solutions as a “one box solution” without the need for an onboard network (ethernet backbone, Access Points etc.), however, it can also be installed within every carriage of a multi-car train.

Australia 2046:

With Australia’s population projected to increase by 11.8 million people by 2046, now is the perfect time to build sustainable transport systems with cutting-edge connectivity solutions. This falls neatly in line with Icomera’s mission to make public transport a more attractive option to passengers and promote more sustainable methods of transport.

With several groundbreaking light rail projects going into production within the region over the next few years, Icomera is pleased to offer scalable world-leading solutions for next-generation connected transport including unrivalled Passenger Wi-Fi, Onboard Entertainment, Real Time Information, Eco-Driving, Telematics, and Cybersecurity services.
