The web cache stores different parts of web pages for faster load times and can sometimes become corrupted. When this happens it can cause partially-loaded or badly-formatted web pages with incomplete images. After clearing the cache, the browser will download fresh copies of everything that you see on each page.

Please follow the step-by-step instructions below specific to your device’s operating system:

 

Mobile/tablet

IOS devices

  1. From the home screen, tap the Settings
  2. On the Settings screen, scroll down and tap the Safari button
  3. Under the Privacy section of the Safari screen, tap the button labelled Clear Cookies/History and Data
  4. On the confirmation screen, tap Clear Cookies/History and Data

 

Android

  1. Launch your browser. (NB: this example shows the process in Chrome, but the steps are similar in other browsers)
  2. Press the Menu key at top right (usually 3 vertical dots)
  3. Press Settings and then Privacy
  4. Press Clear Browsing Data and select the items you want to clear, then press Clear

 

Windows Phone

  1. Tap the Internet Explorer live tile on the home screen
  2. Tap on the ellipses ‘’ at the bottom right
  3. Scroll down and tap Settings
  4. Scroll down and tap Delete History
  5. Tap Delete to confirm and wait a few seconds for the cache and cookies to clear

 

Laptop

Internet Explorer

  1. Click the Alt key to display the menu bar
  2. Go to Tools and then Internet Options
  3. Under the General tab there is a section called Browsing history. Click on the Delete button
  4. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+Delete and you will go directly to the Delete Browsing History window

 

Safari

  1. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen
  2. In the menu that appears, click Preferences
  3. In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab
  4. Click the button Remove All Website Data
  5. Click Remove Now in the pop-up window

 

Google Chrome

  1. In the top-right corner of Chrome, click the Chrome menu
  2. Select More tools then Clear browsing data
  3. In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove
  4. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select the beginning of time to delete everything
  5. Click Clear browsing data
  6. NB: pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete will take you directly to the delete browsing history window

 

Firefox

  1. Click the menu button in the top right corner (3 horizontal bars) and choose Options
  2. Select the Advanced menu
  3. Click on Network
  4. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now
