Products

Icomera has two product families: Icomera X Series and Moovbox. Icomera X Series routers are flexible platforms that combine the best connectivity options with the most open platform for application development. Complete solutions are designed, integrated and maintained by Icomera, certified partners or by customers themselves. The other product family is the Moovbox range of mobile gateways. Moovbox gateways are purpose-built devices intended to provide a cost-efficient solution for passenger Internet for use on, primarily, buses. Moovbox devices can also support various applications such as CCTV or onboard media but, unlike Icomera X Series routers, they don’t support running custom applications on the Moovbox device itself.

Each product family also includes a server system. With Moovbox devices, the use of the server system is optional and the Moovbox device can be configured locally on each bus – similar to a wireless router at home or in the office. The server product for Moovbox devices is called Moovmanage and is targeted at providing services related to passenger Internet on buses, complete with user statistics, questionnaires and route surveys.

Icomera X Series devices are configured and maintained via Icomera Vantage. Icomera Vantage is focused on support for configuration, app deployment and monitoring of a large number of Icomera X Series routers. There are also related server applications for other uses, such as Icomera Hotspot to support passenger Internet applications on Icomera X Series routers, or Icomera Surveyor to provide support for cellular coverage measurements. More applications are continuously being developed and brought to market by Icomera’s network of developer partners. Many customer also use the extensibility of Icomera X Series routers to have their internal IT staff develop custom applications specifically targeted to their needs.

So which product family is for me

That depends on your requirements and how you intend to use it. If you want to have a purpose-built system to provide Internet access for passengers on buses then Moovbox and Moovmanage is an ideal combination. Moovbox mobile gateways are cost efficient, simple to configure and can be installed quickly on your vehicles. And in Moovmanage you will have a web based tool that is specifically built to give you the tools you need to monitor and analyse the usage of the service.

If you need to support other applications than passenger Internet or if you need products that are certified for rail environments, then the Icomera X Series family is your best choice. Icomera X Series routers can run virtually any application in its own sandboxed environment. Apps can be developed by yourself, by third parties or by Icomera based on information readily available on Icomera Developer Network. The routers themselves are designed and built to withstand harsh environment and are managed via a family of server applications. Thanks to the federated design of the server system with multiple applications loosely bound together by a single-sign-on service, new and innovative applications can be added later on with zero impact on ongoing services.

We trust you will find some offerings that suit your needs and look forward to discussing how our products can help you realise your vision.
