About the Job:

The purpose of this position is to support the Accounting Manager in accurately recording the financial activity of their responsible Region to enable the Management of Icomera to make timely strategic decisions.  It is also to ensure that all regulatory deadlines relating to Annual Reporting and Tax are adhered to and in keeping with the Accounting regulations of the region and of the Group.

 

The role is authorised to:

  • Approve bank payments
  • Support the Accounts Assistants where required
  • Monitor and suggest improvements for Accounting processes to ensure efficiencies
  • Liaise with external stakeholders where required (e.g. Accountants/Auditors/Customers/Venders)

 

Key Duties

  • Ensure compliance with Accounting & Tax legislation
  • Review weekly proposed payment run from Accounts Assistants and approve payments in the bank
  • Monitor cash balances and escalate to Accounting Manager where appropriate
  • Raise Intercompany and Customer invoices
  • Review VAT Returns and submit once approved by Accounting Manager
  • Record Salary transactions and ensure payments to tax authorities are made on time
  • Prepare Corporate Tax calculations for review by Accounting Manager
  • Enter month end cash balances into CARIS by due date
  • Instrumental in month end process ensuring full Balance Sheet reconciliation and that deadlines are adhered to
  • Liaise with external Accountants (where applicable) in producing the Annual Report
  • Key Accounting support for the Annual Audit Requirements
  • Support Accounts Assistants and provide training where required

About the Job:

The Senior Electrical Engineer role within the DG8 business is required to take technical responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of electrical design tasks, consisting of, but not limited to drawings, parts specifications, risk assessments, installation procedures and calculations. Working with all linked disciplines to ensure a solution is delivered that meets all relevant legal and safety standards as well as quality expectations within the committed timescales. This role is part of a wider team of electrical engineers but is required to work in conjunction with the assigned Project Engineer, Structural Engineer, and Design Engineer amongst others. 

This role also requires the successful applicant to undertake vehicle surveys as well as on-site installation support. Therefore, travel is an essential part of the role, and this can be anywhere within the UK and potentially further afield. 

The engineer will also undertake related activities to ensure that the requirements of the customer and the company are always upheld. This will include tasks such as client design reviews, internal design reviews and standards compliance reviews. 

The company reserves the right to require the employee to undertake additional tasks or duties as may be within the employees’ capabilities, from time to time both on the company and/or customer’s site. 

 

Who You Are:

You will hold a UK spec accredited degree in electronic and electrical engineering (or similar) and in possession of or working towards chartership status with a recognised industry body.  You will have experience of schematic and wiring diagram drawing production, ideally in Siemens Solid Edge software and a proven track record of leading small teams in the production of on train electrical design solutions from concept to installation.

 

You have knowledge / experience of:

As a QA Engineer with a focus on system testing, you will design and develop test solutions that ensure the performance, reliability, and functionality of our software and systems.

You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers, taking ownership of building and improving automated test suites, defining test strategies, and supporting product quality from early development through release. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on test development and wants to drive long-term improvements in QA practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automated test suites for Icomera’s software and systems
  • Develop and maintain unit and integration tests for Python-based backend components
  • Gradually transition manual test steps into automated test cases
  • Take part in defining and improving our test strategy and processes, including design decisions for our automated test framework
  • Report and track issues, and support release decisions with clear test results
  • Ensure tests align with product requirements and industry standards

Qualifications & Skills:

  • sc / M.sc degree, in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Proven experience in software testing, including both functional and integration testing
  • Solid understanding of backend testing, including writing unit and integration tests in Python
  • Strong manual testing skills with an ability to build deep system knowledge
  • Experience working with structured test processes, including traceability and requirements alignment (IEC/ISO knowledge is a plus)
