Icomera Teams Make Positive Environmental and Societal Impact in Sweden and France

Employees from Icomera’s Swedish and French offices recently took part in two volunteering activities as part of Icomera’s global ‘Making a Difference’ initiative, bringing teams together in all countries where Icomera is present to support projects targeting societal and environmental improvements in their local communities, on an annual basis.

Icomera Sweden’s Coastal Cleanup: A Battle Against Plastic Pollution

50 Icomera colleagues gathered on the picturesque Swedish coastline armed with gloves, trash bags, and team spirit and set out to make a tangible difference to the Gothenburg Archipelago environment.

Through hours of dedication, teamwork, and an unwavering sense of responsibility towards the environment, the Swedish Icomera team collected 120 bags of litter, making a notable difference to the coast’s pollution level. Their actions also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of individual and corporate responsibility and the impact it can have on the environment.

Paris Charity Run: Strides Towards Mental Health Awareness

While Icomera’s Swedish team tackled plastic pollution, its French team took a different approach to ‘Making a Difference’. In the heart of the enchanting city of Paris, the local Icomera team laced up their running shoes for a charity relay race organised by Special Olympics, whose mission is to change society’s view of intellectual disabilities. Icomera’s parent company, Equans, also saw the value of the initiative and donated €800 in support.

The event in Paris perfectly demonstrated the power of community and the role that corporations can play in promoting disability awareness. By participating in the charity run, ‘Making a Difference’ did more than just contribute to a good cause; it showed that the workplace can be a platform for advocating social change and addressing crucial issues that affect society at large.

The activities in Sweden and France followed Icomera’s colleagues in North America, who came together to collect litter for National Cleanup Day in mid-September.

Lina Sandelin, Icomera’s Head of People and Culture, said: “At Icomera, we wholeheartedly support our employees participating in the charity relay race and litter picking initiatives, as they exemplify our company’s core values and objectives – team spirit, collaboration, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
